About Waymark Photo
Great endurance events are about more than the finish line. They're about the people, places, effort, and moments that make the experience worth coming back to.
I'm Chris Fairchild, the photographer behind Waymark Photo. My connection to endurance sports extends well beyond the camera. I'm an ultrarunner, race director, and communications and marketing professional with years of experience working in the endurance sports industry. That background gives me an understanding of not only where the action happens, but what event organizers, sponsors, and marketing teams need from their photography.
My photography background began in photojournalism and has grown into event photography with the same documentary approach at its core: anticipate the moment, tell the complete story, and create images that feel authentic to the experience.
With Waymark Photo, I bring those worlds together. From athletes pushing through the hardest miles and volunteers keeping an aid station moving to sponsor activations, course scenery, finish-line celebrations, and the small moments happening in between, my goal is to create a body of work that captures what it actually felt like to be there.
While endurance sports are at the heart of Waymark, that same approach extends to community events, nonprofit organizations, outdoor recreation, and other events with stories worth telling.
